RBI Assistant Test Series

The exam is conducted in three stages including prelims, mains, and language proficiency test. After clearing all the stages, candidates will be appointed as assistant at The RBI’s office for which post they have applied.

RBI Assistant Eligibility: 2024 Age Limit

• Minimum        Age – 20 years
• Maximum Age – 28 years

Nationality

1. Candidates must be a citizen of India or,
2. a subject of Nepal, or
3. a subject of Bhutan, or 
4. a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or 
5. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

RBI Assistant Notification 2024 - Educational Qualification

According to the RBI Assistant notification 2024, the educational qualification is:

1. The Candidate should have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks for the SC/ST/PwD categories in the aggregate and have knowledge of word and basic computer.
2. A candidate who belongs to the Ex-servicemen category (except dependents of ex-servicemen) should either be a graduate from a recognized University or should have passed the matriculation or its equivalent examination of the Armed Forces and rendered at least 15 years of defence service.

The starting salary for an RBI Assistant is INR 20,700 per month. With experience, this amount can go up. Average salary of an RBI Assistant is 45,050 each month but after all the deductions, they take home around INR 40,000.

RBI Assistant Salary 2024 Career Growth

There are opportunities for promotions to higher positions for RBI Assistant. To become an officer, they have to work at least 2 years as a part of a minimum bond period.

The promotion process involves two routes:

1. Normal Process: Candidates take a written test, and those with experience and seniority in the bank may be chosen as officers.
2. Merit-Basis Process: Candidates must serve as an RBI Assistant for at least 2 years, complete JAIIB and CAIIB diplomas from the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF), and have a graduation degree.
