ICAI New Scheme of Education and Training: Latest Pattern & Eligibility

The Journey to becoming a Chartered Accountant is now easier, quicker, and better suited for the future. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has introduced a new scheme of education and training to improve how students learn and grow.

With a simpler exam pattern, practical subjects, and clear eligibility rules, this new system helps reduce delays and build real –world skills from the beginning. For students who want to become CAs, this is not just a change – it’s a great opportunity to move forward with confidence and clear direction.

Overview of ICAI New Scheme 2026

The ICAI introduced the new scheme to align with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and international education standards. The goal is to make CA professionals more industry – ready with better analytical and practical skills.

Key Highlights:

  • Applicable to Foundation, Intermediate, and Final levels
  • Focus on conceptual clarity and practical application
  • Inclusion of case based questions and MCQs
  • Reduction of papers at certain levels
  • Introduction of structured training and digital tracking (E-dairy)

This approach will make sure that CA students are prepared for both the future and exams.
