Table of Contents
The CA exams results were just declared, if a candidate is not happy with the marks which they received in CA Foundation, Inter and Final results then, they will ask for an ICAI re-evaluation of their answer sheets. Moreover, starting with the November 2011 attempt, candidates who think their answer sheet will be disclosed now have the opportunity to view and disclose their CA Exam answer sheet.
Before applying for a Re-evaluation you must know a few things. Verification of marks includes:
- If there is any totaling error
- All questions were checked and marked
- Is the collection of answer book is complete
- If there is any discrepancy between the marks for each question.
After the declaration of the result candidates have the option to request verification and ICAI revaluation. They can do it either physically with their own hands or online at the ICAI official website, where they have to pay the necessary fees and provide specific details about the following:
- Name of the student
- Registration number
- Level of exam like inter, foundation, and final
- Year and month of the exam
- Roll number
- Paper/subject to be verified
- Address for communication
Note: If the candidate submits a handwritten application for revaluation, then it should be written in his or her writing, also if the candidate took the exam in Hindi language then the application must be in Hindi as well.
Whether ICAI will provide certified copies under RTI?
Yes, to establish and follow the law laid down by the Supreme Court in the judgment ICSI vs. Paras Jain, ICAI appointed CPIOs exclusively for providing certified copies under RTI act.
A similar case has happened between ICSI and Mr. Paras Jain a student of ICSI who fought seven years tirelessly and went to the Supreme Court on April 19th 2019, made clear that students are free to apply for certified copies under RTI ACT, 2005.
How to Apply for revaluation via RTI?
As we all know that as per the ICAI procedure students have to pay a fee of 500/- per paper and certified copies of your answer books will be provided within 30 days of the date of the receipt of your application.
Many students think that the aforementioned ICAI approach is costly as they have to pay 500 for each paper for inspection and certified copies.
For instance, if a CA Final student wants certified copies of all the papers then he/she would have to pay a minimum Rs. 3000 to 4000/- which is probably higher than the examination fees.
If a student can apply through RTI then applicants must pay RTI fees of Rs. 10/- however, if the applicants are below the poverty line and can provide proof of being in the BPL category then the fees will be refunded.
