Corporate and other law is divided into two parts: company laws and other laws. Company Law as the name suggests, it is all about the provisions related to a company.
However, other laws include chapters such as The Indian Contract Act, 1872, Interpretation of Statutes, and so on. Company laws contain 60 marks, while other laws contain 40 marks.
Corporate and other law requires a lot of practice because this subject covers all the company acts and laws. CA Inter Corporate and Other Law Self-Study Tips:
- Start your preparation from the small and easy chapters of the companies Act which are covered under Category A.
- After completing company law from all the categories (A, B, and C) then start preparing other law. Also, other laws give more attention to the Indian Contract Act and the Negotiable instrument Act.
- Try to understand all the concepts very deeply because law is all about interpretation.
- Make handwritten short notes at the time of preparation.
- Grasp on all the section numbers is important.
- At the time of exams, if you are 100% sure about the section number, then it is good but if you are not sure about the section number, then it is better not to write because the wrong section number will deduct your marks.
- Practice with past year exam papers along with solving case studies, it will help you in interpreting laws.

There are four steps to write the case study related questions
Step 1: Write Section name and number if you are 100% sure.
